Toor Dal

Ingredients

1 cup toor dal 
4 tbsp fresh grated coconut  
1 tsp turmeric powder 
1 tsp Cayenne powder 
2 tsp goda masala 
2 tsp grated jaggery 
1 tsp black mustard seeds  
Salt to taste 
1 tsp jeera 
1 pinch of hing 
Few Curry Leaves  
2 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves 
1 tbsp Oil 

Method:

Clean, wash and drain the toor dal. Simmer the toor dal in double their quantity of water until soft. Add all the turmeric powder, cayenne powder, goda masala, coconut, jaggery and salt. Simmer for a minute and remove from the heat. Heat oil in separate pan and add mustard seeds. Add jeera, hing and curry leaves. Stir till it starts spluttering. Pour this over the cooked toor dal, mix well. Garnish with coriander and Serve hot.
